It's September 1946 and - following a wartime break - the Venice Film Festival is once again being staged, attracting the biggest stars of world cinema to Northern Italy, and bringing a touch of glamour back to this most romantic of European cities.
Romeo Beechini, the young head of an old wealthy Venetian family, has invited a mixed group to dinner. Unfortunately one of his house-guests, Leonardo di Capulet, the bright new hope of Hollywood, has just been found dead in his bath. When it turns out he didn't die of natural causes, only one conclusion can be drawn: one or more of the guests has killed him. Your task is to find out who. |
The suspects are:
Romeo Bechini - a captain in the Italian army, he has recently inherited the fabulous Bechini family fortune and is known as the most eligible bachelor in Venice.
Allessandra Macaroni - the sister of Romeo Bachini, she is a young widow, having lost her husband in the war, and looking for a career in politics.
Madonna Medici - the most famous and glamorous film star in Italy, she is hoping to break into international cinema.
Sam Gelding - the ultimate Hollywood power-broker, his word can make or break a career, even if his words don't always make sense.
Sylvester Burlesque - an American of Italian extraction, he is a businessman who has come to Italy to help in the post-war reconstruction.
Marlene Matrix -glamorous and decadent, she made her name in the pre-war world of Berlin cabaret before fleeing to America.
Judy Graceland - an ex-child star who is now struggling to establish an adult career in Hollywood, this festival could be a turning-point in her live.
Franky Coward - one of the few stars of the Music Hall in Brittain to make it on the international stage, his witty if camp style has widespread appeal.
